Terry Holland was AD of UVA and wanted to hire Sandusky in 2000. Something or someone threw him off the trail at the11th hour.

After that visit, the cover story was that UVA was concerned about Sandusky's devotion to his charity - how might it affect his coaching.

That may well be reason Sandusky wasn't hired. But I've been told there may have been at least one other major factor. Working to confirm.

Colts Jim Caldwell was reported by multiple outlets as being Sandusky's 'Asssociate Head Coach' had Sandusky taken UVA job. Not conjecture.

According to Touched by Jerry Sandusky, Sandusky turned down at least two head coach offers after "retiring" from State Penn. Temple and possibly Maryland? According to the child rapist, he turned them down in order to devote time to Second Life and his family.

I don't know if that was disputed at the time or not.

Devotion to continue being a predator is more like it. Wouldn't be as close to his target market at UVA.

Hmmm...that last one is interesting. I know Caldwell as at PSU for about 10 years but now this is the 2nd time his name was mentioned. First time was the rumor that Bradley had contacted Caldwell about a job. Wonder what he knew. One big happy valley family.
