Interested to see Mcdonald can crank out with a full depth chart.
USC opened camp on Monday and the Trojans cranked up the tempo.
Despite noting last week that his team has just 67 scholarship players, Steve Sarkisian said the Trojans were able to have three units and work with outstanding tempo.
Sark said following practice, “Good physical condition. That’s a tribute to Ivan Lewis and the strength & conditioning staff. We ran 130 plays in practice today, but we ran another 80 or so in the walk-through this morning. And that not to mention our teach periods and things.”
He noted, “When fatigue kicked in, they were more prepared and knew what to expect.”
Over the last four years, the injury list at USC in the first two weeks of training camp has been disturbing because of the approach and practice philosophy.
We’ll keep an eye on the Trojans overall health under the new coaching staff and if the number force Sark to slow the tempo.
