I avoid the board after most losses, because the temper tantrums make the loss even more unbearable.  Like many here, I'm not a casual SU fan, I'm a die hard -- and losses bother me.  It stinks having to deal with the knee jerk irrationality on top of that.

I am not going to apologize for being optimistic about this team's potential.  Now, it's up to the coaching staff and players to maximize said potential.  But those outcomes aren't locked into being either 10 wins or 6 wins -- which is how some are acting.

The pessimism gets old [not attributing that to you, just speaking in general].  But I can certainly understand the skepticism with our success, given the past two decades of general futility.  I'm just--and I will 100% own this-- growing less tolerant of opinions that overtly state that they predict bad or temper expectations only to avoid the feeling of being let down.  And it grinds me gears even more when some use losses as a mechanism for "I told you so" sentiment.

The progress that this staff has made recruiting bigger, faster athletes and implementing new systems on both sides of the ball has been pretty remarkable, but we still have a ways to go.  We're far from optimized, and could STILL win 9-10 games.
