The Detla, Bristish Columbia native blanked the Quakers in seven innings of work, striking out 10 and allowing just four hits and one walk. With the bases loaded, Cater gave herself the lead with a single to score two in the sixth. "It felt good to get the win, especially in a game Joc (Jocely Cater) gave us another great outing." Coach Ross said following the game. "I thought we did a much better job fighting in our at-bats and putting the ball in play. Dani (Danielle Chitkowski) swung the bat well and gained some confidence at the plate with two hits and it was huge for us to be able to come up with the big hit when we needed it and put some runs on the board for Joc to get her the win." The Highlights

Throws to the plate from Maddi Doane and Sammy Fernandez kept the Quakers off the board in the first inning.
Jocelyn Cater scored Alyssa Dewes and Julie Wambold on a single up the middle in the sixth.
Danielle Chitkowski went two-for-three on the day with two singles.
Cater's effort on the mound marks the first lone-shutout this season. Cater and Sydney O'Hara combined for one in their victory against Nevada.
The game is Cater's third game this season in 15 appearances with 10 strikeouts or more. Her season high is 16.
This is now Cater's 12th game this season and her eighth straight giving up two runs or less out
of 15 outings. Cater Blanks The Quakers After allowing a leadoff walk, the Quakers roped a double to left bringing the runner on first around to score but a throws from Doane and Fernandez were on point and on time to Wambold at the plate to keep Penn off the scoreboard. Cater held Penn without a hit until the fifth when she gave up a single to the leadoff hitter. However, Chitkowski was there on the sacrifice bunt attempt and threw out the runner at second to keep the Quakers out of scoring position. The next batter grounded out but was able to advance the runner to second but with two down, Cater struck out the ensuing batter to put an end to any threat of scoring. Syracuse's offense clicked in the sixth as Ozanne led off with a walk, Wambold reached on a dropped third strike and O'Hara walked to load the bases, bringing up Cater. Jumping on the first pitch she saw, Cater struck a single up the middle to score Dewes and Wambold. After striking out the first batter of the seventh, Cater gave up a double to center field. However, despite the runner in scoring position, her focus never faltered as she struck out the next two batters to defeat Penn, 2-0.
