We are 4-0 going into Clemson. Think about how joyous September has been. This is why you schedule a directional Michigan, Wagner and UConn while rebuilding. When we're getting Top 15-20 recruiting classes, then you can start preaching about upping the ante. For right now, this is how we need to roll.

I want both extremes. Really easy or a game where you are expected to lose. 3 cupcakes and a blueblood so we see a good team not named Clemson in the Dome every once and a while.

Not happy to replace Wiscy with Purdue. How did the trip to Indiana work out for last weeks best team in the ACC after Clemson?

We played UConn at home, sir!

@Liberty? ACC teams have got to stop doing this. This is one of the reasons the conference is laughed at.

How is it different than some of the teams played in other conferences?

It's not but the ACC is judged harsher than the other conferences. I don't understand it. P5 schools shouldn't have to travel to G5s.

ACC being judged differently is definitely true and because of that I do agree with what you're saying.

Brother, we're both in the ACC, but right now you're sitting at a different table than us. When SU is ranked in the Top 20-30 every year and 7-5 is worst case scenario annually, I'm all for getting rid of those games.

We got a 2 for 1 with Liberty.
It’s a good deal for us. We will these schedule these games and win them with our system.

It's being done to buy an extra couple of weeks of schedule on Phase I of the dome upgrade.

I'm pretty sure Liberty is paying us to go there as well. They have the money and need the games

Fair enough.

the 4-0 start is already a narrative based on 4-0 and not the opponents, nationally. Playing cupcakes was absolutely the best thing this program could have done to turn this around. I loved when we started Tennessee / At Michigan but I also loved being ranked going into the season and realizing our cupcakes were within the conference (Pitt/Rutgers/Temple).

Next year could be even more fun b/c we may have a shot at starting the season ranked if this season finishes up strong. That's a huge wind behind our sails.

In 2016, Western Michigan was a 12-0 Top 15 team. Thank goodness we didn't schedule them for that year or else people would complain we should have scheduled Bryant and Stratton instead.

Yeah but Bryant and Stratton is on the rise too so be careful

I don’t think so. It’s all about % chance of that happening. It’s way more likely USC will be top 15 than WMU, obviously.

If a traditionally inferior program gets good right when we play them, it’s just how it goes. At least you tried to schedule smart.

The main reason we're 4-0 this year isn't necessarily the teams we scheduled, it's the order of the games. We have one non-conference blue blood on the schedule like most other years (ND). The primary reason we're 4-0 is because FSU sucks.

And that we’re good.

But part of the reason we shouldn’t schedule a blue blood is because of our arrangement with ND in addition to our conference slate in some years.

If 4-0 were easy we’d have done it more.

We're in agreement that we shouldn't schedule another blue blood in the years we are playing Notre Dame.

I know there's a better chance of Trump admitting Russian collusion than us ever agreeing that we should play blue bloods every single year in the non-ND years. :)

Fair enough.
Also with the idiotic division set up and both UVA and VTech being in the coastal, we only get a game in the DMV once a decade.

Absolutely but i like our chances against this schedule than the ones we've had in the past. You can't guarantee anything and we'll lose to one of these teams someday but at least get the odds in your favor with a schedule that has momentum potentially built into it.

That's a little of an overreaction. This year we're down because, as a conference, we've lost games we shouldn't have. It wasn't long ago we sent two teams to the playoff. Teams that are digging themselves out of the cellar like us need those games.
