How many is a team allowed? As I see it we will have eight returning next year:

Cooney
Joseph
Roberson
Silent G (assuming he comes back)
Johnson
Patterson
McCullough
Coleman

Then we have our commitments for next year. Will there be an odd player or two left out?????

Right, so if we are allowed 13, which player will not be at SU next year? :

1 - Cooney
2 - Joseph
3 - Roberson
4 - Silent G
5 - Johnson
6 - Patterson
7 - McCullough
8 - Coleman
9 - Obokoh
10 - Richardson
11 - Diagne
12 - Lydon
13 - Howard
14 - Bryant

I think people have to start coming to grips with the real possibility that there may not be room for TB (although I still think he'll probably be here).

Joseph transfer? Lydon will redshirt.

Joseph won't be asked to transfer this year. In theory if he spirals down awards next year it could come after next year, but not right now. And most likely not ever.

Why would TB not commit to another program by now if he doesn't know too about who won't be here next year?

I could see a couple scenarios. I could see patterson transferring. Or maybe McCullough doesn't stick around? And I can also see G leaving to play overseas. But I hope not.

I don't want any if these guys to leave in order for an unknown freshman to take their spot. I'm sure Bryant is great, but it's not like he's a top 5 or 10 player. We get way ahead of ourselves when anointing unknown incoming recruits. Remember when 12 month ago we wanted kaleb ahead of ennis to speed up our transition offense?

Perhaps he's enjoying his recruitment? Perhaps he wants a NSD announcement? Maybe he honestly just doesnt know yet

Could be tons of reasons

Starting July 1 all scholarships are guaranteed for 4 years.

And teams will still ask players to transfer.

I highly doubt JB tells Buss, BJ, or Chino that they wont have a scholly next year. He'll tell them you arent going to play here. I have referred you to these 5 schools. Pick 1 and prosper.

I know it isn't popular but my guess is that BJ will move along. I think this independent of any Bryant conversation. I have no inside information and am simply guessing. I furthermore don't think that having an open scholarship means we definitely get Bryant's commitment. And of course, the NCAA could drop an atom bomb and we could very quickly have 3 or 4 open scholarships next year.

I think Bryant and the NCAA are tied together at this point. No ban next year then Bryant comes here.

As far as ships for next year JB has said all season when asked about it that "someone leaves every year" so it is what it is.
