unless the unthinkable 16 over 1 upset happens, Syracuse is now guaranteed to set the school record for wins. Today's win tied the 31 mark set by the 1987 squad.

Also guaranteed to have the highest win percentage of the modern era

This is shaping up to be the greatest Syracuse team of all time.

Are you a believer yet?

I am always desirous, but sadly, I remain doubtful about the quality of our competition to date

knock off Marquette on a neutral floor and I will be convinced

Bigger fish to fry now. Only 79 teams have won more than 31 games in a season and the air thins quickly between 32 and the record of 37.

Doesnt matter at this stage of the season. I think Syracuse playing Uconn-Cincy and possibly ND is a better pre-NCAA challenge than what Kentucky-UNC will get. Hell Kentucky plays LSU tomorrow which is like a bye.

unless its an ugly 52-51 win, which it probably will be

Moqui is by far one of my faves, but for you not to say "lol I was out of my mind" screams that you're hoping to be right about us (and of course I know you're not). Your concerns were fun in December. It was fun in Jan. It was fun in february.

It's like you're waiting for the obligatory "I told you so". (and I know that's not your intent)

This is our best team ever. No sound basketball mind can argue against it. No SOUND mind

Also - if we keep surviving all the way into April, we still have a chance to extend our record for number of scandals in a single season!

you know that I want to be wrong . . . but I just don't think we have faced a real quality team away from our home floor. I mean the kind of team that will be seeded to make the Sweet 16 (although Louisville might sneak onto the 4 line). All of our "quality" road wins have been against teams in the 7 to 12 slot. I think our SOS is a fiction based on a lot of wins over decent teams in the 50 to 150 range, sprinkled with a few home wins over a handful of legit NCAA teams. I just don't think this team has been truly tested by the kind of team we are going to face in the round of 16 yet (I do believe we have answered the kinds of challenges we'll see in the round of 32, so I have definitely moved my needle from a week and a half ago).

I'll tell you right now - if the worst happens, I will not rush online to post "I told you so." I will rush to remind everyone what a terrific season it has been despite the ending.

I feel your concern, but remember these aren't road games in the NCAA. In Pitt and Boston, we'll have home court adv, no doubt.

Well if we play Wisconsin or Wichita State or a team like that in the sweet 16 IMO they are not as good as Uconn or Lousville.

We've also already set an NCAA record for most home wins in a season, and we're playing our next six at home too.
