"2. Jerami Grant, Syracuse

Grant is one of the top-three small forwards available in the draft now, but before the NBA Draft Scouting Combine he barely cracked the top-five small forwards. At 6’8, with a 7’2 wingspan, Grant has the height and the length to use to his advantage and will likely get lots of shots at the rim. Along with his size and length, he seems to be very athletic which will allow him easy baskets in transition. At Syracuse, he was very successful in the 2-3 zone, and that success will likely continue at the next level.

In this draft he may not be one of the most NBA ready players available, but he does posses the attributes and potential many teams need especially in the first round. Prior to the combine, Grant was likely an early second round pick, but now scouts have him being selected in the first round. The main flaw in Grant’s game is his jump shot. Whichever team selects him will have to make it a priority to work on his shot and if he develops a jump shot he will be one of the best prospects in this year’s draft class."

Portland has a scout that reads me. if he's there, he goes top them

That "reads you"? You got a blog?

Surely you can't be talking about your syracusefan.com output, right?

I'm afraid he is. Igor jumped the shark long ago.

Draft prep

Syracuse's Jerami Grant was among the six prospects the Wolves brought in for a workout on Sunday morning. It would seem to be a stretch if the Wolves were to gamble on the 6-foot-8, 20-year-old forward with their No. 13 overall pick, but Grant has been projected as a likely late first-round pick.

Joining Grant at Sunday's workout were Keith Appling (guard, Michigan State), Jabari Brown (forward, Missouri), Nedim Buza (forward, Bosnia), Dwight Powell (forward, Stanford) and Scottie Wilbekin (guard, Florida).

Powell and Brown could be possible options for the Wolves with one of their three second round selections (No. 40, No. 44 and No. 53

Based on who he was working out with, that sounds to me like they're targeting him as a 2nd round guy. They could potentially use #40 and #44 to move up a little bit in the 2nd round potentially.
