Do you think we are running these plays because that is what McDonald wants to do? Or is it because the staff feels that is all that Hunt can handle? I am trying to think back to the start of last season when the other QB was starting and I don't remember this many screens or short passes?

Hunt was struggling to throw five yard slants

I think you could be right. Lack of faith in Hunt maybe!

Because GMC wants to.

If your QB's primary strength is his running ability you should craft a ground game around it & make it the centerpiece of your offense. The fact that GMC views screens as an extension of our run game when we already have a shifty running QB tells me how dumb he is.

Between our 5 RBs & QB we have a great rushing attack. Pass the ball downfield for f3cks sake!

He is a complete fraud

I've seen them call screens right after hunt hits three straight passes. Somebody should tell McDonald to stop or he's fired. Hunt hit both deep passes today. One to west and one to whoever couldn't get his foot down in the endzone (wouldn't have counted anyway).

I think it's both. McDonald likes it and Hunt is a limited passer.

Every time they replayed a reception the ball was a wobbler coming out of Hunt's hands.

No one on SU knows how to count on bubble screens on either side of the ball

Honestly we should have installed a Navy offense this year. We don't have P5 playmakers at WR. Run the ball and then use play-action when the other team throws 9 in the box.

I would have more confidence in GMC if he were capable of installing a triple option offense. At least he'd be someone willing to mold an offense around the available talent rather than a fool shoving square pegs into round holes.

I think its what McDonald wants to run. He sees the big programs like Oregon, Okie St, and others run it all day long with success. He sees it as the "IN OFFENSE" these days in college football and he is force feeding it even though we don't have the talent to run it successfully.
