Everyone will seize on the logo shot but the one that really blew me away was the set play where he came off a pic and hit a 24 footer in front of the Syracuse bench. In the first half early the San Diego defense was excellent and buddy created his own shots and hit some very difficult contested jumpers, the same jumpers I and many others didn’t think he could make earlier in the season. I mean this kid just dropped 30 against a six seed in the NCAA tournament. Special stuff. -His dad had a big night as well. After a few good looks early San Diego had no idea what to do on offense. Every substitution JB made played out nicely. He did a good job taking buddy out to avoid getting the third foul before the half. -Jesse was absolutely sensational and it was clear what a factor he was defensively. San Diego got nothing in the paint when Jesse was in the game. Also that offensive move he made was nice and showed that he is confident he can do it. He is playing with a lot of swag right now. -Kadary struggled early offensively but it was clear what a factor he was on the defensive end. When he came in the open looks for San Diego State really disappeared on the perimeter. In the second half it was great to see him stroke a couple of threes which shows that his shot will develop. I laughed when I heard the San Diego State coach lament the fact that Kadary hit threes after not doing so all year. -JG3 likewise had some big strokes in the first half. However if we are going to have a shot against West Virginia he cannot give them four gift turnovers like he did last night. These were basically unforced dribbling errors that are totally unacceptable. -not to get carried away but when bras hit that three in the second half to put us up 26 it was pure bliss that reminded me of when Duany hit that three in the first half against Kansas in the finals. It just seemed like everything was clicking perfectly. -If you had told me AG and Quincy would combine for three points I don’t think I would have believed we would have won let alone easily. -marek played a Great Marek game and his help against pressure bringing the ball up doesn’t show in the box score but was very helpful. -I didn’t mean anything but it was still nice to see Woody come in and nail a three -I know the staff and the players are far from satisfied and we are only a 3 1/2 point dog tomorrow. But in some ways last night’s win and this run has made this seem like a successful season in any event and regardless of what happens the rest of the way. I know that one win in the NCAA is not what we aspire to but when you consider that we were down 20 or so to Notre Dame at home at the half just a short time ago that’s just how it feels.
