Jim Boeheim says this is the happiest he's ever been on a Selection Sunday.

Boeheim said ups and downs of season plus the doubt play into his happiness.

Boeheim's happy for Gbinije and Cooney to get back to the tournament after missing last year.

Boeheim said his son said yesterday that all the Battle 4 Atlantis teams were getting into the NCAA, so Syracuse should too.

Boeheim said he doesn't think his 9-game suspension mattered to the committee.

Boeheim said he heard about the leaked bracket and he didn't know whether to believe it.

Boeheim says he's seen Dayton play 7-8 times this season. Play the same as they did in '14.

Boeheim says Bonaventure is a very good team. They've figured out the RPI thing. But he adds not sure Bona beat anybody out of conference

Boeheim said to miss the tournament (last year) and then to get back that he feels good for team, especially Cooney and Gbinije.

Boeheim said he wasn't optimistic, but he didn't really look at it. He said it wasn't like 2007 when he really thought SU would be in.

But Boeheim adds that after seeing the first couple brackets, he thought SU did deserve to get in. 5 wins vs Top 50.

Boeheim ends presser by repeating that he's never been happier on Selection Sunday.

Syracuse seniors Trevor Cooney and Michael Gbinije are at the podium. Cooney said he believed SU would get in based on big wins.

Cooney said he saw the leaked bracket. He followed along for a bracket. "Is this real? Is this fake?''

Cooney said the key to success in the tournament will be defense. "When we've made runs, it's been our defense.'

Cooney and Gbinije's joint presser is now over. Onto St. Louis. Game on Friday v. Dayton.

43. Syracuse Orange
In November, Syracuse shot its way past UConn and Texas A&M on consecutive days en route to the Battle 4 Atlantis belt. In December, Jim Boeheim served a nine-game NCAA suspension. In January, the Orange beat Notre Dame and Duke, the latter on the road. In February (and early March), they lost five of their past six games. Now what?
