joe should've announced his immediate retirement, not waiting to the end of the season. this spoke volumes to me about being selfish, self centered and no real appreciation of the gravity. that would have been an opportunity for him to express his grave concern and cooperation in the investigation yet to come. instead, it showed that he is all about him --not the victims, not university ---but joe paterno---sad--- i'm no lawyer, but i guess on face value, he did what he was legally required to do.
i do think when all this comes out he will be but a minor role player in the greater scheme of things in this horrid mess.

Don't forget. He owes the current players something too. He may have turned his back on Sandusky's victims but don't expect him to do it to his current players.
