Hopefully we're moving past the phase of the program where we sacrifice playing time for our best players because they are not perfect citizens (Williams), seem ambivalent in practice (Sales), or can't comprehend the "complicated" schemes they are involved with on the offense (Broyld).

Injuries have taken away enough playing time from good players to affect or offense the last several years (Lemon, Bailey, etc etc), but we have effectively lost almost 3 years of production because of these completely self-inflicted. Off-hand, Williams missed a half-year due to suspension, Sales didn't play enough for 2 years for unexplainable reasons (NOT referring to the suspension last year which was warranted), and now Broyld has been only marginally impactful through 3 games this season when he should be on the field nearly every play.

Not trying to trash the coaching staff, it probably all makes sense, but we've had a ton of opportunity costs the last 3-4 years that we're hopefully moving past...hopefully the stuff off the field, the practice BS and "complicated" offense issues are behind us and we can play our premiere ball-players like other programs do.

Hopefully this is viewed not as an over-reaction to this one game (actually thought it was a good win against a difficult situation).

So if Broyld doesn't know all of the plays including blocking assignments he should be in the game regardless? If his conditioning isn't yet at the point to play every offensive snap he should be in the game regardless?

Sorry, I just don't understand these threads. He's playing and making an impact, he's seeing more action as time goes on. People seem to think these games work like a video game, just sub the guy in if he's good.
