I think if this team had beaten Pitt 2x as they should have, they'd be firmly in right now.

The Nova loss was one of the most disappointing regular season losses ever to me. We win that and we'd be in the NCAAT for sure with 3 top ten wins, 2 being away games.

And especially the way we literally handed away the win. It was almost like the one time Yankees closer Mariano Rivera couldn't close in the World Series.

I wonder, if we win that game, maybe one other along the way early and had been getting votes for the rankings if the self imposed ban strategy would still be used.

I used it at least once on myself this year. I can't speak of it's effectiveness.

I don't know but if SU is 100% positive the NCAA was going to hand out a post-season ban AND SU wasn't going to try for different sanctions - fines, lost revenue, coaching bans, employment terminations, etc - then I believe it makes more sense to self ban this year.

With that said, if next year's team turns out to be not as good as this year's, then the current ban is harder to take.

I am not sure beating NC State and 1 ACCT game would put us in, but i agree in general with that...

Would have been one hell of a Selection Sunday. We might have been in a 7-10 game w GTown. Fun stuff !!
