Frustrated how much we lack any iota of senior leadership. Starling is anything but a leader. Outside of Autry, this vacuum is another major problem derailing this team. Would be nice to have a leader. We don't have one. Which then goes back to our PG issue. George needs to fill the void. Can he? Unlikely.

Maybe we don't have enough senior leadership because we don't have enough Seniors?

Welcome to the Mercenary Age of College Sports.

Where you can play for 3 different teams in 3 years before declaring for the G-League.
Senior leadership would be great!!!!!

this is a result lack of chemistry due to players lack of familiarity with each other.. i am guessing that red is not a strong leader and is seen that way by this group.. i believe that this will not be fixed by red. if it gets fixed at all it will be players stepping up. i would love red to change his coaching style but right now the players need structure znd discipline . they do not trust the head coach.

And to your point...other teams that are made up of a lot of portal transfers don't seem to have this issue...another reflection of Red not being up to task. He is so far over his head it is quite sad. Not sure if anyone else in D1 could do so little with so much. Must be replaced next season

Some leaders go by example like William Kyle. We don’t have someone like Jason Heart (who wanted every last shot but hit none). We have seniors more like Wes Johnson. We want JJ to be more on the court but I think that is not what he is about. I’m certain there are a lot of things behind the scenes ( practice, etc) that we do not know about.

At this point we nitpick about everything, but really we just care about Wins.

GO CUSE

JJs mentality is the softest of any "star" player I can remember

his ability level is pretty high but the psychological side of his game is astonishingly low

The 4 years DC was here we played hard every game, because he played that way , and expected his teammates to do the same. It's up to the players to personally accept the responsibility to play hard for each other.
They all need to hold each othe accountable, and they haven’t been doing that.

Agree. Are you referring to Derrick Coleman? He definitely did but you don't have to go that far back in time. Go to 2003. Duany.

Wish we had a Wes Johnson.

OP nailed it.
An outstanding, vocal team captain/leader (long-time SU hoops issue) would make a big difference IMO.

I was just saying it doesn't need to be a Senior to make everyone be accountable. The problem is none of these players have stepped up to make everyone be accountable. That's the problem with this team, someone needs to be the leader.

At the very least our senior transfer center leads by example. I have no idea who our vocal on the court leader is but zI doubt we are ridderless. Also I can not agree with or stand for the insults heaped upon JJ. He would need to be the second coming of Michael Jordan to please some of our posters

It has to be Nate George in my opinion and he needs to be on the court 36+ mins a game and stop having to deal with Autry putting 3 new guys on the court during the 1st TV timeout. Suare needs to be cut from the lineup as well unless Kyle basically breaks his arm hitting the top of the backboard.

Tennessee our best game was the Nait + Nate + Kyle on the court for 35+ mins. Why the hell we got away from that is beyond me.

Freeman was, from what I recall, by far the most vocal on the court before injury. Let’s hope he brings a spark come conference play, if he indeed returns as expected.

Senior: Let me tell you something , young buck..
Young buck: Bro, you just got here 3 months ago.
I mean we do have a senior in the backcourt who’s literally started here the last 3 years.

It’s obvious who should be the leader …. If they have it in them
