Wildhack and Crew should be building this day up as the official reopening of the dome. Ticket give always in the community , special promotions, find a way to get a big crowd ( 45k ) and then blow them away with a high tech Entrance using the new Dome bells and whistles. I understand he is probably waiting for the official go ahead from the County Ex. But let’s do it up !

The AD can go above and beyond marketing the home opener but if we lose to Ohio on 9/4 we’ll be lucky to have 30k in the Dome for Rutgers
Obviously winning that game is important, nobody is going to argue that. But properly promoted a good crowd could be attained regardless. We were 1-10 last year so lack of expectations is already in place.

We did something similar for Minnesota in 2009, the first Marrone game. Place was packed. I think they just handed out tickets at the State Fair.

As Upstate said though, lose to Ohio, and there will probably be a lot of people who throw that free ticket away.

Good game! If I remember correctly, Decker had a huge day for the Gophers and Paulus capped off a decent return from a 4-yr layoff with a pick at the goal line in OT?

I think Mike Williams had a long tuddy that day too.

BUT THE BIGGEST STORY THAT DAY!!! I was hammered up in section 333, late in the game my old sneaks slipped on some spilled Dome foams on the bleachers and I slid down about ten rows like a toboggan on my @$$!

I was stopped by two (very gracious considering) old men’s backsides as I flew towards the railing to the lower bowl. Planted those old sneakers right in their backside. SMH.

Ahhh, to be young.

Wasn't the 1st play of the game a Paulus fumble returned for a TD? Snap went over his head?

EDIT: we fumbled and Minny recovered on the 16.

Scored 2 plays later.

This is why my seats are in the first row of the upper deck.

It was an exceptionally humid noon game. I remember that a student in the section below us, right next to the band, projectile vomited and cleared out a whole section.

I also remember the Dome didn't seem overly prepared for the crowd, so a good amount of them were fortunate enough to miss our first snap.

Ryan Bartholomew’s 1st day at C I believe… ended up having a cup of coffee in the league I think.

It was Jim McKenzie as the center. For some reason as the play unfolded, I caught a glimpse of Marrone real-time and I have never seen a reaction like that from a coach. Granted it was the very first play of his head coaching career. Not what you expect. He literally turned a different color and was in a fit of rage. I thought he was going to rip his hair out of his head.

Lose to Ohio and the season ticket holders will do the give aways for ADJW lol

I remember there being horribly bottle necked lines to get into the Dome for that Minnesota game and it was 14-3 when we took our seats just a few minutes into the game.

People who will know we lost to Ohio and not Ohio State < Know the dome got an update and the pandemic is over and lets get out and do something fun

Should advertise like hell regardless.

So the right hand markets the hell out the game while the left hand is unprepared. Not a great look for the Sala squad.
