Service times set for Syracuse basketball great Pearl Washington

Friends, family and admirers will be able to celebrate the life of Syracuse basketball great Pearl Washington later this week in his native Brooklyn.

A viewing will be held from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thurs., April 28, at the Cornerstone Baptist Church at 574 Madison Ave in Brooklyn.

Homecoming services will be held a day later at Christian Culture Center at 12020 Flatlands Ave in Brooklyn. The hours for Washington's final viewing will be 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with the funeral to follow.

Just read that if Syracuse does something for him, it will be after the services in New York. I hope we can put something together sooner rather than later.
