I don't agree, but I suppose I can see the justification.

I think the top four have already separated from the field.

The guy is ignorant no way vanderbilt at 6-3 should be in top 25 let alone 16.

I don't see how SU isn't #1 this week. Doesn't mean they're the best team, but you can't ignore the OSU loss, even w/ Sullinger out. Otherwise, every team should just rest their best player and never go down in the rankings.

What??? You know that two of Vandy's losses were to Xavier and Louisville, right (both in OT)? And you know that their best (and only) interior player was hurt and suspended, right? He played in their last game and fouled out after 21 minutes but not before he scored 15 pts and added 6 boards. Once he gets going, Vandy will be a very tough team.

What do I know. I thought Andrew Luck was going to win the Heisman.

Don't look past Louisville at number 8.

I think you give #1 to OSU if it was a close game, but it seemed like they never threatened. I honestly don't remember the game getting out of the 7 to 10 point range. Also, this is a Kansas team that is a good team, but not 'Kansas' as we have known them recent years. I don't think he's factoring that in enough.

Oh well -- I'm pretty sure Cuse will be #1 when all votes are counted, I just don't think OSU deserves the #1 because their loss isn't a 'good loss'.

Did Davis have OSU #1 last week?

If he didn't, I think he's the first person in history to move a team up to #1 after a loss.

FWIW, I think OSU was better last year than they are this year. Still a very good team (with Sullinger healthy), but not a dominant #1 team by any means.

Just checked, he had UK 1 last week ... guy is a complete joke... earlier today he said that Mick Cronin should have been suspended a game... ummm why? I thought Mick Cronin handled the situation as well, if not better than any coach could have ... extremely impressed with his post game comments

I didn't see the OSU/Kansas game. Was it a nip and tuck game the whole way and then Kansas pulled away on foul shots? If it wasn't a close game I just don't see how you put them number 1 after a double digit loss, with or without Sullinger.

Kansas was ahead from start to finish, but it was constantly going back and forth from about 3 points to 10 points the entire game. Kansas would get ahead by 10, Ohio State would make a run to cut it back to 3-4, etc.

Actually it was a very good game until the end when Kansas locked it

You thought so? Watching the game, I never felt that OSU was challenging Kansas or was poised to make a run. I don't even remember them being able to make a short run to take the lead...

Yeah, because teams only care about rankings and not winning games.

Of course not, that's not my point.

Then what was it? Teams aren't going to hold players out to preserve rankings. Rankings are just a dumb list we all like to talk about. I don't think coaches really care.

Btw, another point in the Sullinger thing though. He's missed 2 games in a row with back spasms; it might be worth building that into the ranking for Ohio State. IOW, maybe you need to consider the fact that Sullinger may not be around every game the rest of the season for them. Back injuries can linger. Which would hurt their ranking.

As for Louisville, eh, I can see 8, though I guess it's a little low. They haven't really beaten anyone, they beat Vandy at home without Ezeli, and they beat Long Beach State at home. You could probably quibble with Baylor. (Man, I just saw Lville beat Butler. They're 125th int he Pom rankings.

Seth's writing off Sullinger's back issue. Knicks is right, that back problem may linger all season. Than where do you rank them Seth?

Here's the problem, he ranks OSU ahead of SU stating on a neutral court he thinks OSU would win. But he also thinks Kentucky on a neutral court would win, yet he ranks SU ahead of Kentucky. You can't use different criteria to rank each team.

He is diminishing winning by his poll. No way a two-loss UNC team should be ahead of an undefeated Louisville team.
