This is the part that makes me just shake my head. He isn't some volunteer high school coach who is busy. He's being paid millions of dollars to run a basketball program in a P5 conference. It's specifically a huge part of his job to travel around the country, or in his case Northeast region, to recruit and evaluate players. Yet we're at the point where we get excited when he does the below:

Flies to GA to visit a recruit that fills a gaping hole in the roster (even though every other one of his peers does that on a regular basis)
Watches a top 30 recruit play when he is 2 hours away from campus and who he watches when he literally does not have to get out of the seat he just watched his daughter play a state playoff game in 20 minutes prior
Sees kids play while watching his son play AAU and other prospects happen to be playing in the same game/practice
That's how low the bar is for him lately. The Final Four run was a great, great memory and stretch for Syracuse fans. The thing nobody really wants to talk about though is that that team had 3 future NBA draft picks (probably 2 first rounders) in the top 6 rotation and had 13 losses on Selection Sunday. Or how it's become rather routine for us the last few years to get beat by teams that we are more talented than. Forget recruiting, that's coaching x's and o's which everyone says is the primary reason to let him go as long as he wants. Everyone keeps expecting him to dial it up like the old days. He's 72. Not many people perform at the same level once they hit their 70's as they did in their 40's, 50's or even 60's. It's his job to work to recruit the best roster he can, to win games at a high level and to be in compliance with the governing body for his sport. I'm not sure which of those 3 he's been doing particularly well lately. Adding edit to stay on topic: Jordan Tucker would fill a major need for the program and give us a much needed perimeter shooting threat.
