I have gone over his coaching record year by year and he was never let near the offense at any school he coached.. Why? You would think offense would be his forte after a pretty good career in high school and college as a QB.

Because his first HC put him on defense (backs I think). And he liked it. And he got really good at it.

QB's are the best people to orchestrate a defense because they know how to attack them. Same reason the best LB's used to play RB. You understand what the opposition is thinking and adjust accordingly. If I had the ball I would do X so I can counter that by doing Y.

Maybe he likes coaching it more than offense.

Those are all good reasons. I liked the way he worked in practice with the DBs when he was DC. I just would like to see the same level of competence on offense. New OC is still a ?. Wait and see.

Yep. Hopefully Lester's system gets us there.

I hope Lester is in a bunker with Bullough and Shafer all summer. "Hey if I ran this, how would you defend it? How could I run it that you couldn't?"

IT SEEMS SO SIMPLE!! Instead we get Pariani, Spence, the Golden Arches, etc.

Still curious to see where the staff goes this summer, to learn and work with other staffs (staves?). Hopefully no more NFL trips, and more successful-college-program trips.
