I thought he did a good job with the press today. Took a chapter from BB.

So did I. The press seemed sad they couldn't continue talking bout soap operas. They will say he spun a bunch of coach speak, but I think he was pretty honest and open. There is nothing to gain talking about McDonald the OC anymore.

i agree he was smart not to rehash the bs, i am certain he is concerned about the recruits and the possibility that some may bail. i was glad to see him stay on topic and not deflective offer bs on the world situations. i feel that post game presser was particularly damaging and revealing to the parents of recruits. he needs to demonstrate his maturity.

As usual instead of reporting the news, the media is trying to create it. Everyone thinks they are an investigative journalist.

"George McDonald is a football coach. He coaches football with us at Syracuse University. We're all Syracuse football coaches. The team has a game Saturday. We're going to try to play good football. We'll coach the team to do that."

I have no idea what else he could say at this point. Someone had to ask the questions, I guess.

Meh. 24 minutes of we are excited, gonna work our butts to get better every single day, moving forward, not talking about the past. I did like how decisively he put an end to any questions about GM.

I would really like to see Shafer do a segment similar to what Marrone used to do with Rahme. As i recall, pre game Marrone would talk about game planning, what they thought they could exploit, what they were expecting that week's team to try to do to them, etc. And then Rahme would publish that interview after the game, and talk about what did and did not happen.

It gave an insight into Marrone and his ability. I would like to see how SS would fare with something similar. We already know we are going to fight the good fight and lock the gate.

Yes, I agree that was great, but we don't have a Rahme anymore. But those of course were not open pressers. He basically shut them up about GM and then did a Belichick. Only way to handle it.

Marrone trusted Rahme. Who at the P-S now warrants that same level of trust?

Yep, because asking a head coach about an assistant who had a hissy fit in front of the media isn't worth asking questions about.

EDIT: My bad bees, and others. I retract my statement. I hadn't watched to the presser yet. I assumed they asked, he gave a statement, and they moved on. I agree, it was a little bit over the top. I'm suspending my self for 24 hours.:bat:

Asking the question is fine... but how many times does her have to answer them? If I was in their shoes I would get tired of answering the same questions over and over. How many different ways do they want him to answer?

Plus I think Rahme knew the game much better than the current PS staff.

I think they work hard and I like their work, but more for their reporting than their analysis.

The Football Program provided the clown show over the past week on multiple occasions, multiple times.

I don't blame the media one bit.

Made a slight edit- don't forget Gross' radio bit from yesterday. You know it's bad when the ESPN Syracuse guys are all taking shots-that group is rarely that critical of SU.

You're a good man Charlie Brown.
