nice win last night over a program that is getting left in the rear view mirror of college hoops. Sad but Vitale was right that UCONN is done as a major player. That said, the game did highlight what I think our biggest problem is - our shot selection is awful.
We either have no plays, lack the skill to execute said plays, or don't have the mental toughness required to run said plays when people are defending us, or have a group of players who think their skills are far superior to what they already are.
Most if not all of this falls on Frank, Tyus and OB - all of whom have to score for us, and all of whom far too often settle for a shot that is too quick, to far out, too contested or too difficult for their skill set. Vitale had a great point that is obvious - you need to take good shots or else it kills your D, and more often than not leads to easy hoops on the other end. With our D - if we can just cut out the woeful shot selection eliminating break out hoops from unbalanced spacing, we can be in most games. Frank needs to handle that as the "leader" of the team, Tyus needs to control his "I'm taking over mode" and OB needs to move inside the arc and post or flash to get the ball where he can hit a 2 or try his drive. The ACC will not allow him to do his bull rushes from the 3 point line and he doesn't shoot it well enough from 3 for the amount of time he hangs at the arc.

Frank was getting bottled all night. Oshae’s gotta play 18 ft and in and Tyus kicked ass but was a little out of control at times.

There were only certain times where Frank was getting hounded. He was turning it over plenty unpressured. This narrative that he was being harassed all game is malarkey. Very good points in the OP.
