Shout out to Pat Perles

The line play has definitely been improving so far over the course of the year.

Yup. Now we need to parlay some solid OL play over the last couple of years into the recruitment of some really, really top OL recruits. Get the linemen. The skill guys will follow.

guys he is a great coach. The line at NDSU was always the foundation of the team. This guy is the best Oline coach we have had in years and yes that includes Doug. Great teacher and motivator

Overall pretty happy with this group. Hard to pass block when receivers are not getting enough separation and having an athlete like Hunt playing qb helps keep the sake number low. Hopefully if the run game continues to roll it will open up those receivers and things will flow even better.

Are you a former offensive lineman? I see you comment a lot about line play. I know nothing about you, or the intricacies of line play for that matter, so I was just wondering.

Uh, okay. That's why he was unemployed last year after being bounced as assistant OL coach at KC. How didn't everybody else in the industry see this superlative talent. That is exaggerated a claim as Zak's that Shafer wasn't qualified to be head coach.

OL is improving from the beginning of the year, good job by him.

Everyone was unemployed last year at KC. Do your homework. The guy is a great and i mean great Oline coach.

Yes, he's great until the next game where we have a few sacks or cant run the ball.. then it's he sucks!! He's over his head!

It's how it works, much like Hunt. I am ok with it but like I said, it's how it works

He isn't better than Marrone or Adkins, and I also think the jury is still out on his ability period.

The youngsters are getting better and the line as a unit is starting to gel a bit but there are still a lot of runs getting blown up; and I'd like to see these guys get through a game without a false start penalty.

I don't think he is better than Browning either, just my opinion. He's better than that magic trick, washed up fat man who worked here for a bit. Browning inherited a disaster while here. Browning got the kids run blocking at least

I agree with kcsu.

I mean, not really, I'm just playing my part like you're playing yours.

Again, not the point. It's not the comparison to Marrone, it's the overkill. It's over the top with no foundation.

Uh, no. Late 2011 Halley got bounced, Crennel took over, and he didn't fire everyone, but one of the few was Perles. So it wasn't everyone, and the point is, and I've made it before, is that he wasn't employed for the 2012 season. If the guy is as great as you say, he's not without work for a year.

And who leaves a job at Michigan St. (TE), his school, and where his father was a legend, for a job (OL) at North Dakota State?

The jury still largely out - but if they keep on their current trajectory, we should be very happy with coach Perles.

I don't much care how that compares with past coaches.

We can simply agree to not agree. I think he is one of the best teachers on our staff.

We need a slideshow timeline or something to cover memorable moments in the OiG and GoSU relationship.
It only works if it's set to Hero by The Foo Fighters.

i feel like Go has an alert set for Marrone and that Otto has an alert set for anything Go posts. And then we have battle.
I can only speak for myself - no alerts. Just diligence.

Then why not just say that then? I'd be interested in what info you have that drives that opinion.

I've thought from the beginning that it was the weakest hire Shafer made. On the surface it looks like a friend (Chuck B.) had a friend (Shafer) help a friend who had been out of work for a long time. I truly hope it works out, because that will be good for the program.

The OL has progressed, I hope it continues.

Well, yeah, that never happened with Marrone.

It happened all the time, a lot of people got what was happening with the program completely wrong. You should know about that.
