Am I the only one who sees this? He moves this team down the field. His passing is off....but just off. A full week of practice with the increased reps has put him and his catchers on the same page. Sit on the edge of your couch later and celebrate that we have found the guy behind center to team with our superstar to drive us out of “laughingstock land.”

I hope so. He’ll have to show he can take advantage of a loaded box and a bad secondary. Opportunity will be there, for sure.

Could it be, I thought we turned the corner in 18, maybe, just maybe.

Not sure it's realistic to think one week of practice will magically fix what spring ball, fall camp and live game reps haven't fixed yet. Love the optimism though.
Not one week of practice, one week of first team reps, there is difference.

There is a difference if it means getting used to your WR’s, playcalling, feel for the game. His issue was largely inconsistent throwing which isn’t going to be helped from a week throwing to the 1st team instead.

Don’t see it. OLine can’t pass protect. WRs aren’t great playmakers. And Shrader takes a bit too long to get rid of the ball and prefers to run. I really hope I’m wrong. I would not be shocked to see TD in there early.

I listened to all of the Noles preview podcasts and they all say we can’t throw and there good at stopping the run. If we come out slinging I really think we catch them off guard and blow the doors open. Start off slow play into there hands with the run then just start hitting them brawl style.

Gotta believe the coaches are smart enough to game plan and install some plays that will cater to his strengths and what they will see from the defense. I think roll outs, screens to the RBs, quick passes to sidelines, quick slants...allot of 4 receiver sets...some counters for Tucker...to take advantage of FSU agression...

Do I hope and pray the coaches are smart enough? Yes. Do I believe they are? That’s a different story…

these are the same coaches that continued to run tucker with 13 guys in the box. I’d be curious how they graded out on 1st grade math.

I think 0-4 Florida State has lost the attention of the country.

Shrader's passing isn't something I'm going to prop bet on Fanduel just yet. But get a win today, no matter how, and keep improving each week.

I listened to them too, and one thing that really pissed me off was they talked about penalties claiming Syracuse gets penalized far more than anyone else, which is simply untrue. For example: Florida state averages *1* less penalty per game and only 5 yards in total variance per game

You didn't tell everyone to close their eyes first...

Agreed but the scripted plays and going in plan with Liberty seemed alright. 100 percent agree that the in game adjustment didn't happen so well once the defense changed it up.

I hope so, too.

Not suggesting that he's going to pass the ball like Nassib, but he's capable of a lot more than what we saw last week. Let's get consistently into that 175 ypg range, and then we're cooking.

I foresee a lot of two TE sets with Mang and Rhino.

I actually am anticipating on seeing quite a bit of Devito today. Dino recognized Liberty had a mediocre run defense and used Shrader to exploit that. FSU's weakness is their pass defense and Devito is the better passer. I think Dino won't hesitate to switch as much in this game, as opposed to Ohio/Liberty.

...That said, Dino isn't the most adaptable coach in the moment so I could be way off here...

I'm sort of torn on this. I've seen enough of Devito as our starting QB and I'm all in with seeing what Shrader can do. That said, with this game, starting Devito could really take FSU by surprise. Make them have to readjust their game plan. Then in the 2nd half, start Shrader. Mix it up, man.

Can someone please reassure me that the coaches know what FSU is going to do (stacking the box and forcing us to throw the ball) and have planned accordingly?
