I had high hopes for Bourama coming off last season. He was so great right before the pandemic hit, particularly in the North Carolina game in the ACC tournament. Always plays as hard as he can. But if you are counting on anything substantial from him and build your roster accordingly, you are setting yourself up to fail. If you bring him back you have to have no expectations and anything you get is gravy

Well, we’re not showing any interest in any of the big men out there. Didn’t even try with Wahab. So far nothing with Mitchell or Tape. To me, that means one (or a combination) of the following:

1. Anselem will be back
2. Sidibe will be back
3. Jimmy is the backup 4/5
4. Swider plays 4 & 5

I'm hesitant to post this because it could be total crap but the person who told me this also told me last night that Powell was going to Tennessee so?? Anyways, I was told we have reached out to Tape along with a few other schools. I havent seen anything else anywhere about Tape at all so idk?

Depends on how many minutes. What are you basing your assessment of Jimmy on?

Jim and Cole dont have the size or athleticism to play the 5. Marek is a super athletic very long 6'10 player who creates a miss match on O that partially overcomes his lack of physicality on D. Cole and Jimmy are not very long and would be destroyed in the middle.

I have to agree with this. I admire Sidibe and what all he has gone through, but we just can't afford to depend on him for a major role next year and have him blow a tire again. I'd rather develop Jesse and Frank and see where it takes us.

as a grad he wouldnt count against the 13? Is that how it works? If so...nothing to lose to let him stick around (other than potentially scaring off current/future players - which would be a significant consideration)...but using a scholarship on him doesnt seem to make sense...

Marek had ball handling, passing skills and speed for his size increasing his overall value to us. He was the lead on most of our fast breaks, he was a great option when we were pressed too.

Seniors who would have otherwise exhausted their eligibility but chose to return under the extra year grant do not count against the 13. And if a transfer candidate is scared off by Sidibe, they are probably not worth the effort anyway.
