[QUOTE="cliftonparksufan, post: 5321175, member: 9"] Just got back from tonight's Siena game vs Sacred Heart. Their second half was the best Siena has looked all year. Last game they lost by 18 to Quinnipiac after being down 30. Gerry in the paper talked about emotion and hustle. Tonight at halftime they were losing by eight. They were switching up from mtm to a zone. Secret Heart was red hot and was shooting 50% at the half from three. Second half was unreal. Siena outscored them 54-29 in the last 20 minutes. They turned up the defense and shot the ball very well. The team definitely had emotion and hustle. After the team made a coiple threes in a row, GMac even high fived the player who made it as they ran back on defense, although it was more a low five. It was either Doty or Coyle, and GMac was really getting into it. So, I've mentioned this before that Gerry has really shortened his bench, especially after Marcus Jackson has been injured. Tonight four guys played over 39 minutes and Carey and the 7'1 freshman center split the five spot. Carey was tentative in the first half and had some foul trouble as he has a tendency not to hold his hands straight up. He's more at at 45 degree angle and picked up a few fouls that way. In his absence, his freshman replacement had a great game shooting 8/9. But Peter was more active in the 2nd half and dig a good job on defense. Siena doesn't have the biggest crowds either, as they are rebuilding the fanbase after only four wins last season. But, especially in the 2nd half, the crowd was really energized, as were the players and it was a lot more enjoyable than being at the dome Tuesday night vs Louisville. Lets hope Saturday goes better. For anyone who lives in the Capital Region, or if you want to make an easy two hour drive, I recommend coming to see Siena play. They are now 8-9 and tied for fifth at 3-3 in conference. The MAAC is down this year so it's possible they could end up with 15 or 16 wins, but that's a long way away.
