Twenty-three years after he helped Syracuse win its only national title as a player, Gerry McNamara has led Siena to its first NCAA tournament appearance in 16 years. It was a quick rise for the 42-year-old, who finished 14-18 last year in his first season, but then turned things around. Siena played top-50 defense nationally inside the 3-point line, finished third in the MAAC in the regular season and won the league's tournament.
