QB was #1 thru #12 and getting Gentry was a big pick-up. I don't think Shane Morris (you may remember him from not being able to stand up) is the guy (he'll be a junior and will likely go into camp the #1) and while I like Alex Malzone who just arrived on campus (he went to my high school), Gentry is a good pick-up to have options going into next year when there's going to be a new starter. Though some people really like Speight. RB has depth so Weber in my opinion wasn't critical by any stretch, but would have been nice to have since it was the first head-to-head between Harbaugh and Meyer. The last thing I'd heard thru the grapevine is that he was set to go Michigan and when UofM flipped Higdon from Iowa he took it as Michigan going back on their word. I also understand that Meyer sold him that if he'd been on the team last year that he'd have been splitting carries with Ezekiel... so yeah. TE was a big need because of Harbaugh's offense so the miss that hurt the most is Clark, though I still think they get Tyrone Wheatley, Jr. which would be solid. WR was filled nicely with Grant Perry (who went to high school with Malzone and was dominant - the two of them lost only 1 game in their 4 years playing together and won 3 state titles) but flipping Van Jefferson from Ole Miss would sure be nice (doesn't sound like that'll happen). All in all, I'm happy with the class, particularly since most of these guys are going to redshirt. If this was a class of 25, I'd be concerned, but it's a small class, all of his flips came at the expense of other P5 schools, and it was done in two weeks. Can't complain about the misses today when 3 of them are for the #1 recruit at the position - the fact that in two weeks Harbaugh could get UofM to be in the final two for those is pretty good in and of itself. Next year's class should be outstanding.
