Good post and good analysis - I would love to be completely wrong in my skepticism about this year's class.  If you noticed from last week, I was very happy with the Pickard pickup over Michigan (gasp, I know) and Wisconsin.  I do agree that the staff went about addressing the needs that they needed to fill, however, we're not in the Big East anymore and while we're a better team than we were two days ago, so is everyone else in the conference (except maybe Duke who just lost more than they gained).

It seems like every year the fanbase is back at the same optimism and talking about how it's the best class yet since the GRob days.  Maybe this is because we got nut punched for how many years, but here we are, how many seasons removed, and we're putting up 3-9 records (albeit with countless injuries) and rankings that the analysts are pegging at the bottom of the conference.

Again, I hope I'm completely wrong and we look back 4 years from now and these kids have won 4 bowls, and even just competed for a conference title.  But after 3 bowl wins since GRob left, my expectation is that we should be looking at recruiting classes that are competing with the UNC's of the world rather than Wake.
