and the one was a give away.

Offensive production has improved steadily. Starting with the Pitt game 305, 481, 502, 520.

Great OL play bodes well for any team.
Agreed and I think we need to recognize the job the RB's have been doing picking-up the blitz over the same period of time.

Not to beat a dead horse, but with any luck at all we should be no worse than 5-3 right now. I really hope we run the table.

Speaking of the RB's picking up the blitz. I've noticed Gulley is the back who is normally in to pass block. Haven't noticed JSmith much - does he pass block at all?

While its obviously helped, I don't know if that's been the key.

You could also make a case for the improvement of turnover margin.

I personally think Marrone's demeanor change has been huge for this team. He has the sole ability of being able to ignite this team by showing some emotion. Would Eskridge have gotten to that punt block if Marrone hadn't helped by trying to pump them up right before the play?

I think he does block some but he is much less of a threat catching the ball. PTG is one tough little dude.

we have won two games by 1 point. the we should be is a tricky question.

Pass blocking has been pretty good all year, Pugh has helped tremendously in the run game and helped Smith really bring it up a notch. You have also seen Hackett open the passing playbook up more the past few weeks, we are taking many more shots down the field and the results are not surprising.

huh?

I think he's saying we could have easily lost 2 of the games we won. The USF game was won on a TD off a 75 yard drive with 1:23 left and the Pitt game was won after Pitt was well inside FG range down by 1 before penalties/sacks pushed them way back.

They have been pulling alot more and getting 7,8,9 yds on traps plays consistently. It's beautiful.

So why don't we just celebrate our defense for standing firm at the most critical moments of the game?

Good point, we have been getting big gains on those plays for weeks now going back to Pitt. Nothing against Jerome Smith who has been a workhorse and a revelation this year but as good as his numbers have been if he just had that extra gear he would ahve taken at least 2 or 3 of those runs to the house, I shudder ( in a good way) to think about what a Morris or speed back could do in this offense.

people can't have it both ways. NW beat us the same way we beat USF and how many times did we turn it over inside the Minny 30 yard line?

Trudo has been very good.

He's also been good for either a holding call or a false start or both each night. Made huge strides and been getting better every week though.

Line should be super next season if everybody returns.

What happened happened and you can't change it good or bad...just continue to learn and get better is all this team can do. Now, if I could get that Delorian maybe then I'd send Marrone to the past but Biff stiff worries me and he could stop Marrone from ever coming back.

Oh I'm definitely celebrating that, but I'm also lamenting the blown defense in the NW game and the horrid mistakes in the Minnesota and Rutgers games, just as I'm sure Pitt and USF fans are lamenting their blown games to us.
