Great move for Cleveland who seem very serious about making noise in the East. They are catching up to the big boys quickly.

Miles isn't very good. If Dion battles him for PT it doesn't speak well to what Dion brings to the table.

But you're missing what Miles brings to the table. It's a lot more than his career 8.4 ppg average in 19.3 mpg and his 23 playoff games. He's played for a relatively steady franchise for the last seven years and he is still only 25 years old. A lot of the Cavs are still wet behind their ears. Cleveland will have plenty of minutes to go around. Besides, the one year that Miles was a full time starter for Utah, he still was only eighth on the team in minutes played. Miles might end up starting in the 2 guard role, and you could still almost guarantee that Dion will still get starter minutes and be in the game at the end.

That's kind of the thing though - that steady franchise didn't want to bring him back on another contract.

No, but you know free agency is a funny thing. Supposedly the Mavs and the Lakers were interested in Miles and they are two pretty good franchises. Supposedly the Jazz were looking to do a sign and trade with Miles and couldn't pull it off. That's a little disturbing.
