Smallest D1 crowd ever?

It's not the smallest D1 ever. I went to a small D1 school that would sadly rival some of those crowds when we had a couple really bad seasons my junior and senior year. But now we usually get 1500-2000 a game now. That might be one of the smallest for a BCS school though. Boston College might argue if it's the smallest though from what I have heard :)

This was an added home game after they lost in the preseason NIT and did not advance to the Garden.
I wonder if 392 Rutgers fans even bought tickets for either of the 2 nights at MSG before they lost.

Plenty of good seats available at the RAC tonight, by the way. $10 tickets and $10 parking!

If you get up to get a hot dog, do they stop play for you until you get back?

Too funny. I mean it's kind of tragic. But I can't help myself from smiling at your post.

That's a good crowd. I live in Teaneck, so I try to go to Fairleigh Dickinson games. If there were 392 in attendance every once in awhile, they would give out gift certificates to Boston Market. Think about winning 2 games a year for the last 7 years = no crowd.

Boy I don't know. I'm not sure there were 100 people at Barclays last night for the Stanford - Houston game. I guarantee there were more people there working or playing at that game than attending that game.

Definitely not the smallest D1 crowd ever - has anyone ever seen St. Francis Brooklyn's gym? 392 is just about max capacity.

That being said, why list it as 392? Even if it is only 392 - you can't list it as higher? I know for a fact other schools around the country fudge the numbers.

Bad job by the stats crew and the SID. Equally bad job by the "Rutgers fans".

That would have an asterisk by it, though. The RU record would stand. :)

My high school in NJ was actually effected by the outbreak. Our hockey team had advanced to the state finals and was all set to play in what the Star Ledger deemed the (hockey) "Game of the Century". Alas, the game was canceled due to the outbreak. Twenty one years later, in 2010, a bunch of 37 year olds from each team suited up and played for charity. We eventually prevailed 3-2.

Yeah - I went to a similar D1 school. It's not D1 per se, the better comparison would be for a BCS school (as noted above).

I was working on a Masters taking night classes at UAlbany in the first couple years Will Brown was coaching...and the team was terrible. I used to leave class and head over to the gym to catch the second half of the games - I would just walk in without a ticket, join the players girlfriends and parents, and watch UAlbany get blown out. If those games had paid attendance in triple digits I'd be shocked (and certain the numbers were massaged).
