http://www.insidelacrosse.com/article/snubbed-for-team-usa-trio-of-rattlers-seek-mll-gold/29536 [I]The blue-collar attitude of the Rochester Rattlers is perhaps best personified by a handful of the most notable snubs from this summer's Team USA roster at the FIL World Lacrosse Championships. Long-stick midfielder Joel White, who led all non-face-off specialists in groundballs with 81 in the regular season, applied to try out for the American roster, but was reportedly not extended an invite. Close defender Mike Manley, this year's MLL Defensive Player of the Year, was included in the 98-man pool of hopefuls, but was cut and not included in the 30-man roster from which the final list of names was built. John Galloway, this summer's MLL Goaltender of the Year, made it to the 30-man roster, but ended up being selected as one of two alternates along with Steele Stanwick. But rather than vocalize their disappointment, these three players from Upstate New York — White from Cortland, Manley from Penn Yan and Galloway from Syracuse — let their play speak for itself this season, helping the Rochester Rattlers field the league's best overall defense (161 goals allowed, 11.5 per game) and earn the No. 1 seed in the playoffs on their way to this weekend's Steinfeld Cup matchup with Denver.
