Just one of those brain farts could kill you in a close game in a one-and-done setting; two of them are shocking.

Hopefully just big-game, post-season jitters and they are all out of his system now.

Hopefully when he was yelling and freaking out on the sideline he was really upset with himself because he has no excuse to be mad at anyone but himself. That shot was aweful with 32 seconds on the shot clock.

The only good thing he did was when he went to inbounds the ball on that one play he put it on the ground and called CJ over to inbounds it. CJ called a timeout. I was like thank god. I was just imagining Melo throwing that ball away if he did inbounds it

It was actually three What moments:

1) The infamous jumper

2) The foul

3) a hard challenge on a layup (by Oriachi? sp?)

I'll add a 4th. The non box out not putting any part of his body on Drummond on that follow dunk. He just stood there and I think was still fuming.

That was not Melo

Bees, was that Melo or Fair on that box out?

It was Fair on the missed FT right after Melo's foul. Also may have been a foul on Drummond.

That was a sick follow dunk by Drummond. He hammered that home. I think he'll go #2 or #3 in the draft. Scouts have to love his athleticism. I think his motor can be a question mark as well as his hoops IQ at times.

I think he means the airball and dunk by Drummond where there was noone to be found.

Look Melo is what he is. He also took a charge, blocked some shots and had a nice putback on a dunk. You can nitpick every player on this team in one way or another. Bottom line is we are undefeated with Melo in the lineup. That's all I care about.

Fair had a terrible game today, maybe his worst of the season. I wonder if there is a virus going around, or maybe they all ate something bad last night.

who would have thought SU could win vs. a hot team without getting anything from 3 of their top 6 guys and their usual backup center out entirely?

no prob with Fab on that ft box out...it was Fair...but why was he on Drummond's side of line...seems silly

The Chipotle Curse returns?

Oh yeah, the Lorenzo Charles play. How was no one near Drummond?

Buddy of mine was joking that because he started at PF, he had to have a Rak like statline.

Melo. On the jump shot not the FT. On the FT, Drummond fouled CJ twice to get that put back dunk.

Gotcha. You are absolutely right on that one. When Drummond dunked that one home, I turned to my son and asked "what the heck is Melo doing standing there."

The jumper was obviously a bad decision (as well as highly amusing and reminiscent of the groan that envelops the Garden when Jared Jeffries squares up to take a long jump shot for the Knicks).

On the non-box out of Drummond after the airball, it looked to me like Drummond was lurking on the baseline and Melo would have had a hard time getting to him for any kind of box out. Drummond was fortunate it was an airball or else he probably doesn't come close to getting the rebound.

Drummond may have pushed off on Fair on the rebounded free throw, but that was a major brain fart by Boeheim. I don't think Melo was in the game at that point, possibly for free throw shooting or ball handling reasons. However, if you don't want Melo to shoot free throws you can just call timeout immediately upon securing the rebound. SU had three remaining at the time. You can't expect any of SU's forward to box out Drummond.

That line is begging for a bad LF joke.

Do people just not get that Fab Melo's basketball experience consists of 1 year of high school ball, one summer of AAU play, Freshman year at SU, summer playing about 10 games with Brazil National Team, and then this year?

While every other player on the court most likely started playing ball at, what, age 7? Probably played all four years of high school & AAU ball too?

Yes, I agree it is strange to see Fab, a guy we've grown accustomed to blocking shots and playing so well at times, do something dumb out there on the court...but what do you expect from someone so new to the game? SMH.
