So Florida just hired LA Tech's Mike White

Young guy, not a huge name, but I think he's coming off a recent conference championship.

I'm surprised we didn't hear about any other big names linked with the job (or maybe I didn't pay enough attention?).

Sounds like it could be a great hire though, but Billy's shoes may be impossible to fill. That guy was class.

I really like the hire. Just a really solid young coach, LA Tech has been pretty good for years. Also, doesn't really open up anything that Hopkins might jump at, so that's good.

Wasn't the Florida AD just saying how this hire will go on into June?
Funny how time flies.

Mike White has won a lot of games quickly but can't quite seem to win his tournament.
Strong ties to Duke...dad is the AD.

According to Jeff Goodman, White was the only one contacted and first choice.

yeah... i would hate to leave the midwest for sunny florida, huge budgets, and good looking females.

Florida is kinda a hoops school but not really. You ask 100 UF fans if they would rather have those 2 NCAA Hoops titles or another CFB Championship...99 of them want the FB trophy and the other 1 is lying.
