What is your sales pitch to that kid who hold offers from teams that go bowling every year, and has a track record of getting guys drafted, and wealthy? Early playing time? That may work for a few, but a lot of these kids who have been "the man" their whole life believe they can play early wherever they go. Maybe some of them think, "Ok, so I sit around for a redshirt year, see no game action, learn the system, and then I'm rewarded by playing for a 4-8 team that doesn't go bowling, and gets minimal exposure." Ooooooh. Where do I sign!
Our recruiting since the end of P's tenure has been pretty consistent. Maybe high 30's to 50's. That's through 5 coaches. That tells me that's about as well as we can really expect to do in recruiting here.
