It doesn't have to define his life - I'm sure the CFL would love to have him down the road.  If someone at my job punched his wife in the face on the elevator, he's not getting his job back. There are consequences for your actions.  I think that's all anyone is saying.  For Ray Rice it just happens to mean he may have screwed himself out of A LOT of money.  Dude knocked a woman (his wife) out on an elevator.  It's kind of hard not to judge someone for that - or at least support him losing his job.  Them's the breaks.

Anyway, he can still do whatever he wants with his life, maybe he starts a battered woman's shelter, maybe not.   Look at Ray Lewis, he's practically a murderer, and now he's got a job on ESPN and praising the lord as often as he can!  If he can do it, anyone can!
