- We beat Duke by two points. Big deal. Clemson beat them by 13.
- KJ McDaniels is one of the best players we will face this year. In a slow-down offense, he’s averaging 16.3 points, 7.0 rebounds with 24 steals, 35 blocks and 25 three pointers. He’s having the kind of year we’d hoped CJ Fair would be having. CJ’s numbers are actually close but a little behind McDaniels across the board with the shooting percentages from all three positions being higher for McDaniels
- Clemson is one of the best defensive teams in the country, giving up 37.8 on field goals over-all and only 27% from three point range. They can do what Notre Dame did to our front line and guard Trevor Cooney as well.
- They hit the offensive boards hard, averaging 12 a game.
- Rod Hall, their point guard has an assist-to-turnover ratio of 3.8-1.3, almost as good as Ennis. In recent games, we haven’t been forcing turnovers anyway: 11-5-8-8-12. We can’t turn the game in to the type of game we’d like so we wind up playing the type of game the other team likes. That’s going to cost us a game someday.
- Their last two games have been 53-49 and 45-41. It’s going to another slow, frustrating game where we can never quite pull away from them.
- It’s also going to be another close game. You keep blade running and you are going to fall off at some point.
- That loss will probably come when we don’t expect it. It will hurt more that way. We don’t expect it today….
