I don't blame him; I blame management for not properly mentoring him and helping him build on the skills he developed at Newhouse and the DO. He's not the only reporter I see as the victim of the sinking ship over there. Marnie Eisenstadt could also be an absolute star at the highest level if she was given better editorial guidance than what SMG has budgeted for.

Like I said in my original post, I DO think that someone who followed the team last season WOULD question why AAM hasn't been as active so far, and I felt the story generally did a good job of exploring that issue. But I think the last graph was gratuitous, and clearly it left a sour taste with more than a few readers, as exemplified here. A good copy editor would have likely stepped in and put the red pen to those lines.
