We had a discussion about the first time a team from South Dakota made the dance.

As it turns out, 100% of the D-I teams from the state of New Mexico are also dancing this year with New Mexico and New Mexico State both winning their conference tournaments.

Looking forward to seeing how the Lobos do this year. They have a great defense and can get hot from 3. Tony Snell is a fun player to watch. Ultimately they go as Drew Gordon goes. And those that think Kris Joseph has a tendency to disappear haven't seen DG. There are some games where he just doesn't show up at all. UNM loses all those games. The program has never made it to the Sweet 16. If DG engages fully, they could do it this year.

I think they are projected as low 5/6/high 7

I had assumed they would get a 5 after winning last night. Maybe a 6, but they have some good wins and they had to beat UNLV on the same court UNC lost on to get to the MWCT final.
