When does the portal transfer window open [has to be pretty soon, with players potentially transferring for spring semester]?
EDIT: The 2026 college football transfer portal window will be a single 15-day period from January 2 to January 16, 2026. This new rule eliminates the previous spring transfer window for both FBS and FCS players. Graduate transfers and players affected by a coaching change must also enter during this new January window, with a specific exception for players who entered before the rule change.
