mahoney likely starts the week getting reps he has never seen before with the first team . unless long is really coming off the bench now Wilson/mahoney have to get ready. so who runs the scout team. Can womack run the triple option and throw just a little?

We'll likely see both, with Wilson used in "must pass" situations. But damn, these being our only two options (at least for this game), really is depressing. Really wish Long and/or Womack were options at this point.

What's the deal with Long? I get that he was injured but is it more of an injury than what they are saying?

Per PS articles he was back participating fully in practice by the end of preseason camp. It's week 4 now.

I just hope it's not due to some promised redshirt. If you look at the offense Lester was running with Dungey, Long would be the next best to run it I would think.

Our QB position is like the drummer in Spinal Tap.

Man, Wilson had a nice throw or two but unless we put him in the shotgun and let him sling it I think he'll be a drag on the offense. It seems our running game struggles mightily with him in the game.

Do you know something I don't? It's going to be dungy. Matt park tweeted yesterday that he expects dungy to be ready. He's our starter and gives us the best chance to win.

Are we all certain that Dungey has no chance to be back for the Bayou Bengals?
give the nature of that criminally viscous hit (that's how I'm going to refer to it), it's a miracle that the question you pose can be a possibility. Given how he looked post game (great), given he was cleared not only on the field to walk off but checked out and cleared at the hospital with xrays, etc they can now observe him for a few days this to be sure no other potentially serious issues emerge.

Now luckily and amazingly, It is a possible outcome that a day later this may be more of a neck sprain issue vs. head based on how the injury occurred with luckily the idiot not using the crown of his helmet and how the face mask slid off instead of driving through dungys helmet. There was obviously head trauma based on how he tried to get up and fell needing help, but with his neck and back snapping back like it did the back helped to absorb and disperse some of the forces which is key.

The anatomy of the neck allows for this traumatic motion more so than if it went in the other direction in forward flexion where serious injury is more likely since when flexed all the force is directed down into the tissues there. It is still possible for serious injury but less likely when forced back into hyper extension vs. a hyperextension forward flexion type injury.

If nothing else new develops in the next few days and it's not a diagnosed severe concussion (at this point a day later meaning he passes all the diagnostics this week including concussion protocol testing/evaluations) and it is more the neck as mentioned then there's actually a chance he plays this weekend, though if I'm his treating dr. I'd advise against it. But the good news is there's some hope at this point that he dodges a bullet most importantly with respect to no severe concussion or anything further more serious and if so then we may get to see him lead a historic upset of LSU.:p

Edit: the above was edited following seeing more video today with ED falling down on initially trying to get up which I wasn't aware of with the OP above.

Thank you for calling it what it was - a criminal act - a vicious act.

I have never been so upset at an opposing player.

Same here.

I hope Michigan State punishes CMU next week and then I'm going to go back to my regularly scheduled not giving a flying about meaningless directional Michigan programs.

Let's hope. But people were supremely confident that Erv was being held out as merely a precaution against URI, and then...

In my personal SU football dictionary, I've replaced the word precaution with nuclear.

What's the worst case scenario? Ok. Multiply by 50 and that's where we'll land.

Trying to break a persons neck is attempted murder. Their coach has no right to be called a coach if he condones that mindset. Thumbs down to those people.

Wilson reminds me of a basketball player who just stands around in the gym all day doing 5-spot shooting drills. He can knock down 80% of his jumpers with no one guarding him, but put him in a game and he has no clue what's going on and rendered completely ineffective.

It appears to me that Wilson's deficiencies aren't just physical.

On the long interception, the WR broke open early and Wilson just stared him down and threw the ball late which caused the pass to be way short. If he throws the ball on time it could have been an entirely different result.

He seems to struggle with his reads and progressions. It's really a shame because he has a great arm.

My wife keeps asking me if ESPN has said anything about the Dungey play and like you have said, SILENCE. It sucks that a cheap hit like this doesn't garner enough attention unless the team is a top 25 team. Total BS.
On the plane yesterday I was watching ESPN's college football coverage and they did show it and discuss it as part of a broader discussion on targeting.

Now, that said, they were also saying in most cases the ejection is unfair to the defensive player, so...

Lester said in his last interview right now AJ is working on his throwing motion and he can not make ACC throws right now due to the broken hand. Seems like he still has a bit to go with recovery from the broken hand.

You left out the import part. Before the season started Lester wanted to work on his mechanics. He didn't not like his hand position on the ball. When he threw lots of balls sailed because of this and he is not Acc ready until he gets that fixed.

Correct I forgot about that detail of the throwing motion they where fixing, thanks!

Sounds like you've seen me play
