The last two games, this team has played some of the softest and most uninspired basketball I've seen in a long time. This post adds no value to anything, but I needed to get this off my chest. I can live with losing; losing because the other team just has more 'will', for lack of a better word, is disheartening though.

Does playing soft/finesse come from playing only zone? Conversely, does playing gritty man to man produce toughness?

Absolutely! At the end of day, the one constant is the coaches.

Pitt chased down so many more long rebounds. With both teams taking so many threes, the guards have to stay home and rebound.

Hopefully Battle, Frank and Mali will be better backcourt rebounders.

The key to improved rebounding is simply pack in the zone .. Let them shoot from outside and have 5 guys available to gang rebound . Let them shoot wide open 3's for all I care .. At least they get one chance per possession instead of two or three

Louisville and Pitt ALWAYS play us tough. Sure, I feel that part of these last two games has been poor shooting and rebounding, however I feel that this is attributed to these two coaches knowing Boeheims tendencies so well, while knowing how to attack them. We all know that Boeheim is set in his ways and does not change much. Having faced Boeheim so many times over the years leaves these guys with a pretty good blueprint on how to beat him. It's borderline infuriating, however I always feel that these games are generally losses when 'Ville and Pitt are on the schedule. The styles of these two are a miserable match up for us. Always have been, and always will be as long as we are lucky enough to have Boeheim on the sidelines.

G, Cooney, and Mal, couldn't hit the ocean if they tried today, but where the heck was Roberson. He's suppose to be our junkyard dog. One shot attempt and three rebounds is unacceptable against that team.

I agree and I think our leader in terms of experience and ability has turned into a point counter the last few games. I wonder if the double digit streak is in his head.
