Some Attendance Info

With just five more games to go EVER in Big East play at the Dome, I wondered how we were doing with attendance. Here is a summary of the last seven years through the first 14 games, based on box score numbers.

2007 - 276,840
2008 - 273,688
2009 - 273,680
2010 - 284,088
2011 - 295,371
2012 - 300,225
2013 - 285,896

No surprise I suppose that last year's team, which was ranked #1 in the nation, faired best. However, it was just #9 in the official NCAA list for the full year, which is available here:

The #1 team of all time (based on attendance) was the SU 1989 team which included Sherman D., Stevie T, DC1, Billy O, Matt Roe, DJ, Harried and Rich Manning. They officially drew 537,949.

Looks like we were #2, not #9. Am I missing something?

Yea, communications I think. Last year's team attendance for the year was 423,924 on the official NCAA list. That puts it in 9th place since 1976 when the records began.

Using the total attendance number for 2012, we actually finished #1 (not #2) in the nation last year. However, they arrange their ranking based on average attendance per game, which dropped us to 2nd place.
