I just heard Niko Timurian call today's game a "moral victory". Is there such a thing as an "immoral victory"? (Maybe CMU last week if they'd won.)  Again, you are looking for two things in a game: to win and to feel optimistic you are going to win the next one, too. Last week's game was a discouraging victory because it didn't create the desired optimism. This week's game is an encouraging defeat because it does produce that optimism. A win is a win and a loss is a loss but that doesn't mean you can't feel good about the team after one. It has nothing to do with "morality".

On the 6PM news, Andy Malnoski was describing local high school highlights. He described a game between Onondaga Central and Bishop Grimes. He started out be describing it as "all Grimes" but showed nothing but Onondaga highlights. He then announced that Onondaga won, 28-0. Then, at the 11:30 news cast, he did the exact same thing. Then he showed the Mets clinching the NL East, saying that they have a chance to be in their first World Series since 1986". Except, of course for 2000. Nice job of proofreading the copy.
