Slow week, just for conversation.
CJ averaged 14.4 ppg last year. The last 20 games of the season he averaged 15.7 ppg. I would expect him to average atleast 16, which is the more then a whole point more of any player since Wes Johnsons 16.5 and flynns 17plus.
Jerami Grant had a 6 game big east stretch where he averaged 9.8 ppg per 33 mpg. He got the experience in to play long minutes
. By Comparison, the last 18 games after those 6 he put up 29 shots in 18 games. Thats around 9.7 shots in three 6 game stretches vs the 45 shots he put up in that 6 game stretch. Obviously Grant is a completly different player this year.
Trevor Cooney had 10 big east games where he got more then 10mpg. In those 10 games he shot 9 for 28 from the field over 32%. That 32% is not all that bad. Obviously we are expecting more attempts out of cooney though. Cooney shot something like 7-16 in canada from outside after missing his first 5-7 attempts, pretty darn good. I expect him to be in the high 6 low 7 ppg range, and as always he will be pushing himself as hard as he can to do better then that.
Baye Keita averaged 5.8 ppg the last 9 games of the season up from his season average of 3.7
Christmas had 7.5 rebounds per 22 minutes in canada, up from last seasons average of 4.6 rpg in 20.8 minutes. Neat fact, he and Keita were outrebounded by MCW last year. MCW's coach may have been right saying he was the best rebounding guard in the country.
