This short clip was as much about poor team execution of basic M2M concepts as it was about one player's reaction. JJ's reaction was poor without question. He needed to hedge out to stop penetration once his man made the handoff to the player Kingz was guarding. Why was Kingz lackadasical about trying to beat his man to spot of the handoff and why did he look to immediately go under that action and pull off his man? Did he assume that JJ was going to switch with no screen being set? What was George doing on that play once JJ did not slide over? He was responsible for the help rotation in that sequence. Instead, he guarded air and watched the player drive into the lane and take the shot.

It's easy to just point the finger at JJ on that play. But, there is much more happening here.

Again, the defense is either being coached this way or it's being condoned. Accountability, discipline, intensity, and coaching are implicated.
