If the players show up as expected there will be:

5 QB's

7 TB's

9 WR's

6 TE's

That's a lot of offensive skill position guys.

On a side note, if you believe the posted numbers, this class has to be the biggest size-wise in SU history. Only the kicker is listed at being under 6' and everyone else but Whigham is listed at 6'1" and over.

7 TB's and 5 QB's seem like a lot to me. Maybe we can switch some TB's to DB and QB to TE (although 6 seems to be plenty).

We are getting bigger. I noticed the trend with last years class.

PTG, Smith, AAM, Rene, Tull, Morris, McFarlane. It's not really 7.

5 QB's doesn't seem like a lot ... since Loeb could take his degree after next year, leaving just Kinder, Hunt, and Broyld for 2013.

When do we hear about all the departures that have been alluded to?

Would think this isn't by design, but you gotta figure HCDM & co's plan is to stock pile who they can and hope to god some play makers emerge.

Good strategy - bring in lots of skilled athletes.

No fullbacks, and 3 of the 5 QBs are very athletic. Let's crank this thing up.

Already heard about a few, PThomas, Graham and Jones. SThomas I am sure was in that group too but has had a change of heart.

ok, glad that's it. Was expecting more.

That's going to make the zone awfully tough on opponents.

I've been saying this since the last years of the P era -- I think numbers and S&C/player development are vastly underrated when people talk about "talent." Most of these coaches have a decent eye for talent (yes some better than others, but still ...) and they have more and more information to work on each year with all the media access, etc. But, what started at the end of the P era, continued through the GRob era and then hurt us after the Great Marrone Purging of 2009 is a severe lack of numbers, particularly in terms of upper-classmen and redshirts. Getting numbers back in order has to be as big a priority as any, IMO.

Yep, we know we're not recruiting 5 star, even 4 star guys. We're recruiting guys who need to develop. Hard to develop players who don't stay at least 4 years, if not 5. Get that cycling back, and we'll consistently be a better team on the field.
