Among the other reasons to dislike Bobby Knight, he always used to shake hands with the opposing coach and then turn around and leave without shaking hands the other team. Always annoyed me.
I consider myself to have good sportsmanship but I used to hate shaking of the hands after games. I respect everyone but its a charade that shaking hands is considered good sportsmanship.
Sportsmanship is helping people up when they fall and not playing dirty. Or even the pregame good luck. I was "ok" with shaking hands with players I knew, a coach or two and that's it after a game. NBA like.
After games do you really want to be forced to shake hands with a celebrating team with a quick walk by of good game for everyone including trainers? Imagine fans lining up to do the same with opposing fans ... It's comical and a farce.
