So being at the game and sitting in a section with numerous Sparty fans it was humorous to sit and watch the entire exchange with the Blackshear foul and shooter replacement.

So when Blackshear gets fouled and bloodied and was getting treatment on the sidelines I hear people yell and scream:

"Come on Pitino, stop stalling!"
"This is ridiculous...start the game!"

Mind you Blackshear had blood all over his shirt and he technically cant go back in the game until its cleaned up. Plus Izzo is getting a free time out but that's besides the point.

Also Blackshear hadnt missed a FT all game and I think he was 12-12 for the game as well. They somehow forgot that.

So then shockingly Pitino puts in a walk on (who for the season was 1-2 from the line) to shoot the FT's. Holy hell did they freak out! Lots of "cheaters" comments. Mind you the kids was a FREAKING WALK ON! Plus he left him in the game to play defense which was the equivalent of me playing defense for Louisville.

Syracuse fans are just superior.

I snapped this quick picture of the walk on when he came in.

i was sitting behind blackshears parents (at least i think it was based on their reaction every time blackshear scored). They were none to pleased with the reactions of the MSU fanbase during that time.

I just thought it was silly seeing they were taking out a guy who was basically automatic at the line and putting in a walk on to shoot the FT (which I was stunned he made). Then they kept him in the game for the next possession which obviously helped Sparty as he was lost out there. Oh and Blackshear was bleeding from getting hammered in the face...by a Sparty player.

But it was cheating and unfair!

I thought it was odd that he stayed in there. On Louiseville's next defensive possession they had to shade the other guard to help him out at the top of the zone to keep trice was blowing right by him

But did you need to tell them how to use the sink while you were taking a dump?

One thing i've noticed watching this tournament is if you have a "thing" you can foul all you want and never get called. Kentucky is tall so they can destroy people under the guise of a blocked shot and MSU is scrappy so anything they do that's normally a foul isn't called because that's just good old fashioned Michigan State scrappiness.

I noticed that with MSU hacking the s*** out of Louisville. Then I remembered the 2013 BET final and didn't care.

Think Duke rolls them.

I thought he held his own defensively. I know he didn't have to much, but he kept his guy in front of him. Surprised MSU didn't go at him harder.

I did not. I dumped at home prior to going to the game so I was all set.

One thing I did teach 2 Louisville fans was the old "up and down the stairways" to avoid the crowds. I was walking back from the can during halftime and there were wall to wall people. Two Louisville fans in particular were complaining that they may not get back to their seats in time for the second half tip. I said to to them "follow me" and I proceeded to use the old Dome staircase technique to get past the crowds. We actually were sitting in the same section and they were amazed at this discovery and couldnt thank me enough.

One of the oldest tricks in the book.

The one thing that every Michigan and Michigan State student and alum have in common is that they both got into MSU.

Those degenerates can't even get vandalism right.

Understand the gist of the story, but in cases like that, I seem to recall it is the other team's coach who selects the free throw shooter right? That would explain why they put in Ollie. Of course, for Louisville you have expect that kid to come in and start raining 3's. But anyway, I think it was Izzo who picked him to shoot not Pitino.

Right. Forgot about that. Even more the reason not to get upset if you are a Sparty fan!

Per Mike Waters Pitino did get to choose the kid who shot the FT's. Apparently makes 95% in practice.

Yeppers - It's the NBA where the opposing team gets to decide. Interestingly enough, I remember when Pitino was coaching the Celtics, he complained about this.

Used it myself this weekend!

I'm not up there for Hoops games...is it the 100 level walkways that get gridlocked? so you go up to the 300's?

No. On the same level you go up and down the stairs that lead into the sections.

Want me to draw you a picture?

Yes...LOL

So the old up/downs? BTW, is the 300 level worse than the 100 level for big hoop games?

I thought they were stupid as soon as they started the "go green, go white" chant. Got a laugh out of that but got an even bigger laugh out of NC State cheerleaders. I think they practiced 10 minutes all year. I don't know what was funnier, manleaders laying down and spelling "state" with their bodies or the staggering chicken fight thing they did. Good fun. In all honesty, I was happy Mich St fans showed up and cheered loud.
